Four Defendants Sentenced on Federal Charges Stemming from Staged Motor Vehicle Accidents
Louisville, KY – Four defendants were sentenced this week for conspiracy to commit health care fraud. Two of the defendants were also sentenced for mail fraud, and one defendant was sentenced for money laundering.

Martin County Man Sentenced to 60 Years in Prison for Producing and Distributing Child Pornography
PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Donald York, 60, of Beauty, Ky., was sentenced on Thursday, by U.S. District Judge Robert Wier, to 60 years in prison, following his convictions for producing and distributing sexually explicit images of a minor.

Kentucky Woman Sentenced for Mailing Threatening Communications to Neighbors Because of Their Race
Louisville, KY – A Kentucky woman was sentenced to nine years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release for mailing communications to her neighbors in 2020 threatening to injure them because of their race.

Lexington Couple Sentenced for Participating in a Darknet Marketplace Drug Trafficking Organization
Benjamin Norman Joseph Flanigan, 27, and Haleigh Breanne Flanigan, 27, of Lexington, were sentenced to federal prison on Thursday, by U.S. District Judge Karen K. Caldwell. Benjamin Flanigan pled guilty to drug distribution and conspiracy to commit drug distribution and was sentenced to 18 months. Haleigh Flanigan also pled guilty to was conspiracy to commit drug distribution and conspiracy to commit money laundering and was sentenced to 48 months.

The founder of Berenyi, Inc., headquartered in Charleston, SC, Antoine “Tony” Berenyi, 63, was found guilty late Tuesday, by a federal jury sitting in Covington, following a six-day trial, of one count of conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud, 14 counts of wire fraud, and 10 counts of money laundering.

Adair County Man Sentenced to 27 Years in Federal Prison for Child Pornography Offenses
Bowling Green, KY – An Adair County man was sentenced today to 27 years in prison for child pornography offenses. U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky and Special Agent in Charge Jodi Cohen of the FBI Louisville Field Office made the announcement. According to court documents, Matthew Ross Mouser, 41, produced videos of his sexual abuse of a minor victim, traded images of child pornography via the internet, and discussed sexually abusing children with others online.

Two Marion County Kentucky Women Sentenced for Elder Fraud Scheme
Two Marion County women were sentenced yesterday for their roles in an over $500,000 elder fraud scheme. Donna Jean Bradshaw, 57, of Lebanon, Kentucky, was sentenced to 48 months of imprisonment, followed by 48 months of supervised release.

Eleven Kentuckians Sentenced to Federal Prison for Animal Fighting Offenses
Two additional individuals, Jerrard McVey, 48, and Linda McVey, 42, both of Carlisle, Ky, were sentenced on Tuesday to 12 months and a day in federal prison, by U.S. District Judge Karen Caldwell, for conspiracy to knowingly sponsor and exhibit animals in an animal fighting venture, in connection with the Valley, a chicken pit on the border of Nicholas and Fleming Counties.

A Bellevue, Ky., man, Perrin George March V, 27, was sentenced in federal court on Tuesday, to 32 months in prison, by U.S. District Judge David Bunning, for illegal possession of a firearm.
